NERV Haven FAQs

Direct bookings offer the best experience, lower prices, occasional special, discount rates, and direct communication with the NERV Haven team —ensuring your stay at The NERV Haven is seamless from start to finish.

Those other platforms add different booking fees which increase your costs. Additionally they limit the types of communication hosts can send to guests (for example they often block website links if we wanted to send you a link to local restaurants or other points of interest).

Guests can cancel until 14 days before check-in for a full refund including taxes.

If guests cancel between 7 and 14 days before check-in, they will receive a 50% refund including full taxes. Host will be paid 50% for all nights.

If guests cancel less than 7 days before check-in, they’ll receive a refund of pro-rated taxes, and host will be paid 100% for all nights.

We strongly recommend that guests purchase their own travel insurance to protect against unexpected changes or disruptions. Travel disruptions are not grounds for a refund and so travel insurance is your best protection against the unexpected.

Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM.

Early check-in or late checkout may be available upon request, subject to availability and would be billed at $25/hr. 

We do not use physical keys to give you access. Instead, roughly 24 hrs before check in, we will send your access code via email. 

When you arrive, enter this code into the keypad on the front door knob and you will hear the lock disengage, the security system will automatically disarm, and you can enter The NERV Haven to start your stay. 

NERV Haven accommodates a maximum of 6 guests. This includes adults and children. For example 2 adults and 4 children would be 6 guests and thus the maximum allowed. 

Our two story home is ideal for those seeking a peaceful, restorative, rejuvenating stay rather than a party-style rental. Great for girlfriends’ getaways, mothers and daughters, families with older kids and teens, and couples seeking to escape and connect. 

We have not outfitted this property with items for a younger family, such as plastic cups and plates, high chairs and  pack & play sleeping equipment, though families with this profile are welcome to bring their own age appropriate items if they decide to stay here.

There is a train line that runs through all of Ocean Springs and it does indeed blow it’s whistle for safety. The sound can be heard throughout the town and we don’t want this to be a surprise for you.

Our excellent proximity to downtown Ocean Springs places our property close to the train tracks and so the sound of the train can be heard while at The NERV Haven. We have done all we can to reduce it’s impact, by installing Class A Sound Absorption wall panels in all the bedrooms and other rooms throughout the house. We also have sound machines in each room as an additional option. 

We adore animals, but this home is a pet-free retreat. Thank you for helping us maintain a pristine space for all guests.

We ask that guests leave the home in the same respectful condition in which they found it.

– Remove all trash to designated bins in the back of the property.
– Place all used towels into the washing machine and start a load. The washing machine will already have detergent loaded in the repository, so no need to add extra. This step really helps us with the transition between guests. 

Any excessive cleaning may result in an additional cleaning fee.

Yes. To protect our guests, we have installed a monitored security system at The NERV Haven. If the alarm is triggered, and not disarmed within 30 seconds, emergency services will be dispatched.

As part of the security system there are cameras on the outside as well as various entryway sensors, motion sensors and glass break sensors inside the property. The front door lock is connected to the security system so that when a guest uses this to access the property, the security system is automatically disarmed. 

Each guest will be provided with a code to access the property, and this same code can be used to disarm the security system at either the keypad located inside the front door, or at the security panel located upstairs in the hallway. 

To arm the alarm while home (for example while you sleep overnight), press and hold the STAY button on the keypad located inside the front door. Disarm the alarm at any time by entering your access code.

If you do not wish to arm the alarm while out, then simply secure all doors and windows and when standing outside the front door, press the Kwikset button at the top of the door handle keypad and you will hear the door lock. 

You also have the option to arm the alarm to the AWAY status. To do this, close all doors and windows, then from the keypad INSIDE the front door, hold down the AWAY button for 3 seconds. You will hear the alarm make an announcement, and then you are free to open the front door and leave before the countdown ends. The door will automatically lock at the end of the countdown.

Smoking of any kind (including, but not limited to cigarettes, vaping, e-cigarettes, cannabis) is strictly prohibited indoors or on the property.

A firm $250 cleaning fee will be charged for any smoking in the house.

The home is professionally cleaned and carefully inspected between every stay to ensure a consistently high standard of cleanliness and comfort. In the event some element of the home is not satisfactory, please contact us immediately so we can resolve your concern. 

Some booking platforms mandate that all guest/host communication be routed through their system. For those which do not (including booking directly on this website), we are available for direct messaging at info@thenervhaven.com or via text at 228 300 7333. We do our best to respond to questions or needs before, during and after your stay.

No. The NERV Haven is a peaceful retreat and is not suitable for large parties, events, or gatherings which extend beyond the specific individuals staying at The NERV Haven. For example, a birthday celebration with the maximum 6 guests is perfectly fine but anything beyond this is strictly discouraged and would need to be approved in writing by the host in advance, and would only be approved in extraordinary circumstances.

Ocean Springs enforces an 11pm to 8am quiet period. Please respect these quiet hours to help maintain good relations with our neighbors and ensure a peaceful stay for everyone.
