An Active Stay in Ocean Springs

This trip is for early light, salt air, tired legs, and good sleep. For people who like to move in the morning, rest in the afternoon, and earn their dinners. Ocean Springs becomes your playground—water, trails, bikes, bayous, and wind.

What to Pack

  • Water shoes for kayaking and boating
  • Sand-proof slippers or Crocs
  • Athletic wear
  • One elegantly casual outfit for dinner
  • Pajamas for recovery nights
  • Sunblock (non-negotiable)

Arrival Day: Shake Off the Road

Rent a car if you want freedom; Uber works if you’re keeping things close.
Take the coastal road to 298 Porter Avenue—slower, saltier, worth it.

Drop bags, get oriented, then wake your body up:

  • A 2.1-mile jog out and back along Front Beach Road. No shade—plan accordingly.

That night, eat downtown at Eat Drink Love or Glory Bound Gyro Co. Keep it clean, nourishing, and simple. Sleep comes easily here.


Day One: Fishing Day

Early start. On the water by 8:00 a.m. with Captain Leo for a three-hour group fishing trip. Sun, movement, patience.

After:

  • Casual lunch
  • Stop at Rouses Grocery (8 minutes away) for ingredients to prepare your fish dinner

Evening options:

  • Cook together, movie night in, or eat out
  • Consider a casual but delicious dinner at Murky Waters BBQ
  • Or wander downtown and follow the sound of live music

Day Two: Paddle Board Morning

Ease into the day.

  • Breakfast—fuel, not fuss at District Coffee
  • Stretch with a yoga video, lift light weights, or bike easy
  • Add intention with a personal trainer session or begin with Selah Pilates

Mid-morning:

  • Head to O.S. Paddle Board Rentals and get on the water

Lunch stays casual at Lil’ Market & Deli.

Afternoon recovery:

  • ethOS Wellness Spa — infrared therapy, deep tissue, or the Cellar Beer & Wine Experience

Before dinner, wander local galleries. Art lands differently when the body’s already tired. Consider dinner at Lady May or Mosaic—live music and great energy.


Day Three: Bike Day

Start early with good coffee at Bright Eyed Coffee.

Choose your ride:

  • Easy ride: Rent bikes or e-bikes and take the Park Loop
  • Serious ride: Live Oaks Bicycle Route with gravel or road bikes from Biloxi Cycle Works

Refuel with a healthy lunch at Government Street Grocery.

Optional afternoon adventure:

  • Gator tour at Moss Point (about a 34-minute drive)

Dinner when hungry at a casual spot like Lost Springs Brewing—food trucks, live music, easy energy.


Day Four: Bayou Kayak Day

Breakfast, then head inland.

Call Old Fort Bayou Canoe & Kayak Rental

Paddle slow. Watch birds. Let the bayou set the pace.

After:

  • Lunch
  • Shearwater Pottery for beauty and history
  • Browse books at The Porter Collective

Dinner is earned tonight: Vestige—thoughtful, quiet, and worth dressing up for.


Day Five: Wind & Water

Breakfast, then to Biloxi.

Schedule a tour with Biloxi Boat Tours. Depending on your time on the water:

  • Biloxi Harbor Cruise (~45 minutes)
  • Deer Island Ferry (~2 hours)

After the water:

  • Visit the Maritime Museum
  • Lunch at Biloxi Waterfront Café

Dinner somewhere known for excellent seafood—Desi Vega’s Steakhouse or Mary Mahoney’s.


Day Six: Windy Sails, Part II

  • Breakfast
  • Group wing foil or kitesurfing lesson with Bending Pines
  • Lunch stays light

Late afternoon:

  • Tennis at Inner Harbor Park

Evening is about recovery: stretch, hydrate, eat well, sleep deeply.


Day Seven: Open Space

No agenda.

Options:

  • Davis Bayou for walking, birding, and quiet
  • A final beach stroll
  • One last bike ride or swim
  • Or simply sitting, watching the day unfold

Departure: Leave Light

  • Follow check-out procedures
  • Start the towels
  • Leave a note on the inspiration wall
  • Head to the airport with tired legs and clear lungs
